A Few Flew Over My Nest

"What was she thinking?" I am sure many of this blog's stalkers were wondering why all of the sudden I've added embroidered birds to my Etsy store. I hope this picture better explains what I am thinking. When put together into an arrangement, they can make a nice collage.

These feathered friends are so detailed and have the appearance of a pen and ink drawing. It is only when up close you notice that they are made up of 15,000+ stitches. Combined with an Ikea frame, I think they make a nice addition to any room or, even better, a thoughtful gift.

I have had these embroidery designs for several months, and have been waiting to do something with them. I have always planned on stitching them onto watercolor paper and hanging them in our bedroom. It has just taken us for-ev-er to get to this place. For weeks and weeks and weeks (actually months) we have been slowly redoing our bedroom. There was furniture to be bought, furniture to be sold, furniture to be repainted, and furniture to be built! Then, there was the painting and redecorating. Finally, the last thing left to do...put something on a long, blank wall.

Voila!
Now, when you peer into our bedroom, you no longer see a blank wall, but a collage of feathered friends that beckon you to enter and relax.

Hi! thanks for stopping by my blog! If you did all that embroidery than you have a talent and skill that is almost a lost art! My grandmother taught me when I was little but it's been years & years...
