For those of you who have been waiting for the Halter Chic Apron Pattern...have patience, right now it is at the editor's being reviewed. So, while we wait for the final pattern, I thought I would share with you my inspiration for this pattern.
I was browsing Etsy one day when I came across this pattern. It took me straight back to my summers in the 1970's when I was a teenager in Houston, TX.
Even as a young teen I loved to sew and armed with my first Singer, I was stitching most of my clothes. The green halter on the left was one of my favorite patterns and I made it over and over. And, I wasn't alone. My best friend made one or two and my cousin made several.
So, when I ran across this pattern on Etsy, I remembered all of my cute little tops...the yellow and white plisse', the purple gingham, and many others. There was my inspiration, buried deep in my memories..., I began reminiscing about all of the fun I had when I was wearing my halter...summer days at Astroworld, going to baseball games, riding my bike, just being a kid.
I guess I wasn't really looking for a style as much as a feeling. After all, that is really what my aprons and patterns are all about...making memories with the ones you love.

Love this picture! Brings back great memories of high school. I used to wear these halter tops back then, too. Oh to have a halter top body again! Now I'll just keep ordering your wonderful aprons and pretend!
pretty sure I made this halter pattern too! I don't think I looked as good in it as these young ladies, though!
I was a teenager in the '70's too, but my Mum wouldn't let me wear halter tops. But they sure look familiar!
Your aprons are adorable. I love turquoise and red together, and especially with polka dots!
So Darling! brought back memories . . . I had a navy blue one that I wore as often as I could.
