Bits 'n Pieces

Newsflash!  It is sooooo hot here I can hear my grass panting!  So, before everything gets all brown and shriveled, I thought I'd post a recent picture of the side yard landscape.

Here's the before - notice the dead grass from LAST YEAR'S drought, which caused us to create a landscape in the first place.  I refuse to BUY grass, struggle to keep it alive, and then have to replace it in the Spring!

Here's the "new plant" phase...about half of the plants came from other parts of the yard.  

Here' the landscape a few days ago. 

If we get any significant rain in September or October things should really flower and spring to life.  Until then, this is as good as it gets. 

In the meantime, I am staying inside and working on a new tutorial and a new apron pattern!
