The Veil is Lifted

One of the coolest things about living in Austin is the availability of extremely talented people.   There especially seems to be an extra portion of creative sewers who are willing to share their knowledge and expertise.  On Saturday, I was able to beg my way into a local pattern making class being taught by Tina Sparkles.  The lovely and talented Ms. Sparkles is also the author of Little Green Dresses, a book I am destined to one day own.

The class was called DIY Pattern Making 101, and friends, let me tell you...the veil was lifted, the mystery revealed, the "I" got it!  Ms. Tina is an excellent teacher and in a detailed but conversational way she was able to simplify the secrets of creating a garment pattern out of a few basic pieces.

I am so excited about learning this missing link in my sewing knowledge and cannot wait to get started making garments again.  So, keep checking back because there will be future posts on the projects.

In the meantime, I have a new apron pattern that I will be releasing very soon!
