Is This Why America is Great?

It has, ahem, come to my attention that some of my photographs could use a wee bit of work.  So, to remedy this situation, I am taking an online photography class called Photosanity.  I found the class through LivingSocial and it was half off...if you get one of these in your email, jump on it...to-ta-lly worth it.

Anyhoo, throughout the workshop I'm supposed to daily take pictures (mostly of kids) and post them on Shuttercal which is a cool place to document a year in photos. It's free to join and a great way to document the daily changes in a child throughout the course of a year.

Since I have to drive 15 miles to snap photos of my grandkids, I've decided to catalog my daily life for this workshop.  Yesterday was Bible study and I snapped this picture of our group.   We are reading Genesis 23 where Sarah dies and Abraham buys a cave and the surrounding land.  Notice there are Bibles being read, computers being read, and phones being read.  My, my, how technologically savvy these Christian ladies are...

But the Bible-computer-phone isn't the most significant point...I think this is interesting because the moment the Pilgrims hopped off the Mayflower, prayer has been a part of our nation.  Every week, all across our country, ladies gather in small groups and pray for personal needs, loved ones, their community and their nation.  Just small groups of 8 or 10 ladies praying and reading their Bibles (or computer-Bibles or phone-Bibles), every day of the week, in every town, sea to shining sea.

Surely, these small, insignificant groups couldn't really make a difference...or could they?
