What’s Black and White and Red All Over…

1b

I am continuing the process of remaking my aprons for my Etsy store cover pages.  In doing this, I am also examining how I go about choosing the fabrics.

2

For this apron, I was immediately attracted to the fabric’s pattern.  It’s bold, it’s graphic, and it’s modern.  What’s not to love!

Since bold patterns always work with aprons, I knew that this would be a no-brainer.

However, I toyed with the idea of going with a mustard yellow instead of the red on the accents.  I chose the red because it has greater appeal and I had the fabric in my stash.  Again, no-brainer.

Sometimes, fabric choice comes down to what you love or what you have on hand.  For this project, it was both.

I did struggle with choosing which pattern to remake in this fabric.  I almost went with the Halter Chic Apron Pattern, but I have something else in mind for that one.

Great apron! I just made a grilling apron for my son-in-law. I wanted him to think of us in Wisconsin, so I made it out of duck cloth that looked like a Holstein cow. lol He'll definitely remember us. :-)

LOVE that apron, and glad you used the red for accent, although the mustard would have worked too.

That's a really pretty apron! I looked at your store and I really like several of them. But just a thought for you, seeing aprons on people rather than dress forms goes a lot farther to show me how it fits :) I'm glad you linked up to Cure for the Common Monday :)

Leslie-

Gorgeous. Really. I think the red pairs much better than a mustard would. I think mustard and grey work better than with b&w.

I'll be featuring you again, because I just love this!

Thanks for sharing.

Great fabric choices. The red really pops against the black and white fabric.

I love the shape of the bodice. I don't know if that is the right word because I'm definitely no seamstress. So unique with that fabric. I really love the gray and yellow one I saw in the preview section that says other posts you might like.
