Goo-Lishus!

Entertaining a 3-year old can sometimes be a challenge...

Entertaining a 3-year old AND not being able to leave the house because you have to wait for UPS is even more challenging...

You get the picture..so, I pulled out a preschool learning book AND the paints.  Ooh! Something new.  Don't worry, I have a vinyl table cloth AND, you may recall, I make aprons, so his clothes (and mine) were covered!

We were painting our way around one of the mazes which had little stops...you know...Mr. Bunny, Mr. Turtle, etc.  At the very end was an ice cream parlor...so we had to "stop in and get some ice cream."

(One of may favorite things with young children is their language development...you know...creative verbs...unique word creations...) sorry, just needed to add this in...

Well, when we got to the ice cream parlor, Lil' D made the cutest comment...

"Mmm, 'lishus, goo-lishus!"  (My grandson is a genius...creating new language instead of just following Standard English...of course, I knew this all along!)

It was just so darn cute AND his little comment stayed with me after he left.  So, later that day I was in one of my favorite little fabric shops in beautiful downtown Buda, TX  (not "boo-duh", but "byu-duh" as in "beauty" ) when I saw these fabrics and started to laugh!

I thought, aren't they just, "...'lishus...mmm, goo-lishus!"

Hey Leslie, Your aprons are GORGEOUS! I love your blog as well. I really enjoyed meeting you on Wednesday and I look forward to seeing you again. And, if you ever decide to have a free for all sewing day with your scraps, I will definitely show up. Take care and happy sewing!!!
