Everytime I make an apron I have little bits and pieces of fabric left over. It's never enough to make much of anything. Occasionally one of my daughters will raid the stash for a little piece to applique onto a gift. Still, the pile grows and grows and grows. I actually have grand dreams of piecing these scraps into a really crazy quilt - like that is ever going to happen. Regardless, I just can't throw these scraps out because I know somewhere there is someone with REAL talent who may want them. So, there they sit in a huge pile in my studio...sad, lonely, friendless...waiting for a purpose.
So, yesterday at my Bible Study I noticed one of the young moms sitting in the back knitting and I thought, "She is just like me!" Afterwards, we began to talk about knitting, sewing and other fun, crafty things we like to do when it occurred to me that she had three daughters who might also be like-minded.
Bingo!
Someone with limited resources AND three future crafters.
How perfect!
Scraps now doing the happy dance!

I have the same issue. My aunt taught me how to make dryer sheet quilt squares and when I have spare time I sew one up with scrapes so then I have a neat pile of quilt blocks instead.
How wonderful that your act of kindness made five people very happy. I'm sure the mom will be happy when her three girls are busily creating with the lovely bits you shared. And it's obvious how happy you were to find a way to get the scraps out of the house. Have a great weekend!
